In true MTTM spirit here is a bit more on the DJ's playing and what you can expect from them!
LG Fritz started to DJ at the age of 18 while living in the UK. Learning on vinyl and being an avid listener of dance music since the age of 14, he quickly picked up the knowledge and began to play Hard House and Trance. This quickly led to sets all around the UK playing amongst some of the best underground DJs in the scene.
Slowly his musical tastes evolved to a new sound emerging from the underground, Electro. LG Fritz was hooked and soon started to promote a monthly event, Audiotronic, showcasing the best up and coming Electro, Breaks and Techno DJ's.
At the age of 21 LG Fritz made the move back to his country of birth, South Africa, in 2007. He took some time away from the DJ scene to concentrate on various other projects including working on some original tracks and remixes.
After an extended break from the scene LG Fritz decided to get back into what he loved the most, playing dirty, filthy, bassline driven music. LG Fritz can be heard playing anything from Dubstep, Electro, Drum & Bass and Breaks.
With a strong passion for a wide variety of music and childhood dream of always wanting to become a DJ, Marci X set out to bring the dirt, as well as the illest
sets in the north.
Marci X started DJ'ing from the age of 18, after many years of dabbling with the electronic genre as well as being the front man of Durbanville's Deathcore sensation, "Lines of Separation". Soon after the split of "Lines of Separation" Marci X decided that it was time chase his dream and push into the scene, shortly securing a weekly spot at Edward street's, Cafe Venezia(Cafe V).
This soon led to an offer for a residency at the infamous Cheetah's to headline their weekly Student night parties, keeping the Drum & Bass and Dubstep scene alive and thriving in the Bellville/Brackenfell area.
After his debut set with the big boys at DANSVILLE along side SFR, Dynamo & more, Marci X is sure to be turning heads with the grittiest basslines in the Cape.
We recently saw Jed Rabid as one half of The Intu, a dynamic blend of chilled dub and some MCing. Sadly they cannot make it as a full group but Jed Rabid will be providing the groovy beats! Here are some words from the man himself, describing his sound.

After many years of sleepless nights, coming down, stuck infront of the computer making music, I decided to redefine my abstract experiments, and make them into songs people could relate to and enjoy.
Next up, no no this is not the order of appearance, just random, is Grimehouse. This is a project started by Straight Jack, who is leaving behind the Electro vibes and throwing down something a whole lot more grimey!

For every person, something changes within them once they hear their first electro song. An awakening occurs. A passion begins. Some enjoy the party and appreciate good music; others make it a lifestyle. Something changed in the wee little German lad all those years ago; praising a mixtape, Crookers brought him to life. The German lad put DJ Sammy and Evermore aside, for far better beats to live for.
Cape Town's electronica scene exploded. With parties hosted by Arcade, Untamed Youth and Rub-A-Dub-Something bringing a regular installment of sex music to the children of Cape Town, a following grew and amidst the crowd, young wee Blitzkrieg found his calling. Beginning as a mixer, inspired by Crookers, Blitzkrieg's DJing style evolved with the scene; dabbling in drum and bass and dubstep, until finally settling on a distinct and versatile sound.
Every musician starts out in someone or others basement, and after having played at several house parties, Blitzkrieg had his first taste of the limelight. After winning a spot on the Brickcity line up, Blitzkrieg commanded the Fiction Dj booth, delivering a flawless set to a room of eager sweaty beatfreaks. From there, his career has flourished; a regular at Dansville, a collaboration with LG Fritz and Jonny Robotix, has seen Blitzkrieg join the Fukk It crew in hosting regular parties all over Cape Town and delivering a serious mix of electro, dubstep and the like.
Making the jump from mixing to producing, a promising future as on of Cape Town's up and coming DJ's awaits the wee German lad. Blitzkrieg will deliver a mess of original sound; distortion of hair raising quality and beats to jolt your pulse. Don't wander about in the breaks, get lost in the music.
'Blitzkrieg' literally means 'lightning war,' and he's going to burn this city down.

Qi, a DJ/producer from Somerset West, been jamming out to Drum n Bass since before he was born. He digs anything dark and anything energetic, so you can expect a mix of those 2 in his mixes.
He has played at Rubadub, Noctivega, Dub Nation, and used to be a resident DJ at Nameless in Somerset West.
JoNNY RoBoTIX has had music in his circuitry since he was sparked to life. Rock and metal inspired him and he programmed himself to play the drums. A brief stint in a high school band followed and that all ended rather badly after the lead singer started to let the principal know exactly how he felt about his recent expulsion.
The Prodigy was the first electronic type of music to grace his auditory circuit boards and because he was mostly well, electronic himself, he fell inlove that very instant. For years he graced the dancefloors of Clublands finest establishments getting his nightly fixes of electronic stimulation.
The rock and metal long forgotten, he still yearned to have control over the music he loved, just as he was able to when thrashing out the drums. So it was not long until his visual sensors where scanning the DJ booths of the clubs he visited. Watching, listening, learning and downloading, all the while doing his, well, robot dance of course.
Because he had a love for all electronic music he found it hard to choose and stick to one specific genre - when he did finally lay his hydraulic hands on his very first set of decks.
As promised we have some more information on our last sponsor, namely DJHookups. We sat down with the 2 guys who run the store George Steyn & the lastest sensation to hit the local club scene George Daniel.
MTTM: Ok so by the title there's probably not much in asking what you guys do, however just give us a rundown in any case.
George Daniel: Well, the name does say it all, we hook DJ's and producers up! We specialize in the sale and rental of professional DJ and sound gear.
George Steyn: Spiro's corner, corner of Vrede and Main road, Durbanville.
MTTM: Any particular hot products you would like to talk about?
George Steyn: Well, our favourite at the moment is the NI Traktor Kontrol S4 and we're anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Pioneer DDJ T1 which should be in-store next week! George Daniel: It's really difficult consentrating on only 1 piece of equipment as DJ'ing has become so intricate and complex as what it was a few years back with everything and everyone going digital, but the new midi controllers on the market are extremely powerful and that makes us excited to see what the future holds for digital DJ'ing!
MTTM: The Technics 1200s have stopped being produced, Pioneer has brought out it's own Midi Controller, how long before we see the death of CDJs... Or not?
George Steyn: I personally think that CD players will still be around for a while. There's still allot of DJ's out there that's using CD's. The midi controllers are not yet a standard in the DJ club scene and some DJ's are not yet ready to switch over. Some still prefer the hands on method. The day will come, but not soon. George Daniel: Agreed, and Serato etc, are keeping the CDJ revolution alive. Digital DJ's can still gig with there laptops and just plug it into the serato and go! So in my opinion, I think CD players are still going to be here for quite a while, but the time will come when controllers will take over...
George Steyn: George Daniel (HaHa), Dublussion, Codax pops in every now and then. George Daniel: We get our fair share of celebs coming around and not just DJ's, we can't say who they all are, you should come hang out by the shop and see for yourself ;-)
MTTM: Tell us what you're going to be giving away as the prize from your side of the competition?
MTTM: Are there any projects in the pipeline for DJhookups?
George Daniel: We're busy installing our Producers room, where producers will be able to sit and work in an relaxed and secluded enviroment with some of the best gear available. We're also busy upgrading our website into a fully operational online DJ-store! Watch this space...

We did a SOTD recently to help along local boys Enough Weapons in their attempt to snatch the BreaksPoll.com award for Best Song 2011.
Sadly they never made it, but we have to say that losing to this particular Hedflux track is no shame at all! Psy-Breaks is fast on the up and we at MTTM are all for it!
Not much in explaining what Psy-Breaks is other than Psy influenced Breaks really, have a listen to the track though and make your up own description.
Harnessing the rational to illuminate the transcendental, Steve Young aka Hedflux is synthesising a gleaming new event-horizon of controlled, pulsating energy across dancefloors worldwide. Unifying chunky tech-funk with refined psychedelia, the result is a stylistic hybrid that whips together laser precision engineering, liquid tight grooves and a visceral, rampaging energy.
His seminal 2010 track Mindcell found a strong resonance in the collective, spending 10 weeks at the top of the Beatport breaks chart, becoming the 3rd top selling breaks track of the year and scooping the coveted “Best Track” award at the 2011 Breakspoll International Breakbeat Awards. Exemplifying the Hedflux sound, Mindcell delivers distinctive tough beats, molten basslines and an evolving stratum of resonant synth sorcery, illuminating expansive crystalline spaces in the frequency domain while remaining firmly rooted to the dancefloor.
Starting as a DJ at the tender age of 15, Steve honed his music production skills in parallel with an academic interest in physics and mathematics. This life long obsession with truth led to obtaining a PhD in quantum physics in 2004, but left him intellectually disoriented, with an unraveling faith in the traditional scientific worldview. Five subsequent years of unsatisfying employment inspired him to pour ever more love and energy into music and spiritual growth, finally summoning the courage to let go of the corporate world, pursue his creative ambitions full-time and trust in the consequences.

The second of our MTTM competition Brand Focuses and the spotlight is on the guys supplying the main prize a set with Mix n Blend at the legendary DANSVILLE!
MTTM: How did the Dansville parties start out, where's the name come from and all that, tell us the story!
Dansville: The first parties started out at a small local bar in durbanville called kunskafee which had a small stage for bands to perform. I've been a big fan of electronic music since I started studying thanks to TyronKuypers (Bruce Willis??) & Graham Kennedy (Kennedy) the masterminds behind Brick City and all those kind of parties were only available in town at the time. I come from Durbanville
but stay out in town so the highlight of my month was the Homegrown parties. When I went to durbanville over some weekends the only thing really happening were some local bands playing their gigs out in Durbanville side which I got gatvol of, so one night out at one of
these gigs after the bands played their set I went to my car, grabbed a Ed Rush and Optical cd and started playing some drum & bass and obviously
the few people left over at the early hours of the morning started going crazy, it was then when I decided I'm gonna start throwing parties out in the north. I knew there
was a crowd for this kind of music in the ville, but didn't think it would grow into anything at that time, I think the people were just waiting for it to happen, and it happened at the right time.
The next day with a fakken huge babbalas the idea was still fresh in my mind & I started thinking up some names and realised I was trying too hard to think up "cool" names and kinda sticked with something that was just straight forward and said what it was, a "dans" in the "ville". I started up the group page on facebook and people slowly started joining. The guys that helped buildDansville to what it is today are Rohan Olwage (Infemy), Mark Ackermann (Hydraglyph, Construkt) & Steffen Olivier (beatjuice).
After a few gigs at Kunskafee I realised we needed a bigger venue were the bar also stayed open for longer and Blizzards
was the perfect venue for it. I think were the parties really took off and people really started to hear about it was when Jack Parow did a set at the first party for 2010 and we organised a braai outside of the venue which was a huge success. From there on bigger names came, bigger crowds came and we still proud to keep the scene alive out this side of the world were I think most people probably thought we are still boer.
Dansville: When it started out it was D&B, Electro and trance but now its DnB, Electro and Dubstep
MTTM: What makes Dansville stand out from other party brands/events?
Dansville: I don't think Dansville stands out that much from other events I think the only difference it has is that it's the first of it's kind in Durbanville and the people were just waiting for it to happen. I also think that because it isn't dedicated to one music genre it caters for all so wether you like DnB, Electro or Dubstep you know it's gonna feature at a Dansville event. And obviously the D'ville crowd are fucking nuts so at the end of the day they make it happen and are always keen to lose some face!
MTTM: We saw something a while ago pairing the Dansville name and Assembly, tell us more about that.
Dansville: That was actually something Dansville & the band Foto na Dans did together for the launch of their album DIE VLOED, we combined the 2 brands and held 3 events called Foto na Dansville at Assembly,
Klein Liberates and one at Blizzards. Always good to try different things I suppose. Big ups to all the guys that were involved and to Assembly for giving the opportunity.
MTTM: What do you as a promoter think of the MTTM concept?
Dansville: Personally I think it's the only way now a days for DJ's to help promote themselves and to have the opportunity for people to hear what they are capable of apart from actual gigs which is sometimes hard to get by. As a promoter I only make use of MTTM & Soundcloud to hear who's who and what they have to offer in terms of producing and mixing and from their I can judge who's got the skills and who doesn't, so MTTM is doing a great job :)!
Dansville: To keep organising great parties, building and keeping the scene alive alongside all the other awesome Party brands in Cape Town, maybe even getting a few internationals out this side one day….. ;)
We got out first Psy-Trance minimix in! Proving that it can be done using a little
creativity.
This minimix is in by a new Djing and at some stage production duo called Hektek Elektrek. Check out their Soundcloud page for their full demo, a nice mix of Psy-Tech, Psy Breaks and Funky Psy.
They will be playing at Mungus Fungus presents Psykick this coming Friday at Purple
Turtle, Long Street, Cape Town from 9 - 10:30.
Mungus Fungus are now doing a sick Psy party every Friday and as the trance season winds down the parties thrown by the Mungus guys are going to hot right on up!!
So we have been thinking of extending the time of a minimix, 10 minutes is a tad suffocating. 15 minutes is still regarded as a short hard hitting taster of what a particular Dj can do, so we going to be on the lookout for mixes that are of the slightly longer variety.
Doing the usual Soundcloud browsing we came across this sick Jungle inspired Drum & Bass minimix, done using 3 turntables. Done by a fellow from the UK called Zero Zero.
Really been enjoying the Jungle sounds of late here at MTTM so this makes for some perfect listening!

I'm from Jersey in the UK, started Djing a couple of years ago, my first big gig was supporting DJ Friction at the Watersplash. On NYE 2009-2010 myself and a couple of mates threw a barnparty after the town parties, which we had CTRL Z play at. Not long after that we setup the Nightshift which is 2 of us and an MC, we have supported quite a few acts that have come over including Dub Concept, Gerra & Visionobi, Krogenic & R-Dange, Terminal State, Caged Baby, Plump DJs, Schema, Ctrl Z, DJ FU, Friction, Marcus Intalex, TC and Noisia. We have 2 residencies, 1 with local promoters, and our own night we started not long ago.
I started producing just under a year a go, and I've just recently started working in the studio with Terminal State and will hopefully send some stuff out by early summer.
